Real Aliens

As we approach the millennium it is interesting to revisit what kind of aliens we are most likely to have contact with. We are most likely to receive signals rather than the actual visit. However if we were to be visited, it is likely to be by an agent of the alien rather than the alien itself.

The agent is likely to be a mechanical droid capable of self replication and possessing enough intelligence to be able to process local resources in order to reproduce. This form of agent will be able to disperse through space whilst by reproducing be able to maintain sufficient density so as not to miss any life form.
